One moment San Francisco police officer Dani Barsetti is chasing a suspect through an apartment building. The next moment she wakes up in a completely different place and time. It's the twenty-third century--at least that's what she's being told by a group of scientists who aren't at all happy to see her. Their agent, a man sent back in time to kill a dangerous terrorist, has been killed by the terrorist instead. So now the scientists are proposing to send Dani back in time to finish the job.

It sounds great to Dani, who only wants to get home. Except for one thing--her trip into the future has totally erased her from the past. Her wife Gemma doesn't know her. Her parents and siblings have never met her. And the police force has no record of her.

Could she start over? Could Gemma fall in love with her all over again? Dani has only two weeks to find out before she must return to the future. But is two weeks long enough to fall in love? Or is it only long enough to say goodbye...

Light sci-fi story about a cop who inadvertently travels to the future. Her trip completely erases her life in present-day San Fransisco. She's sent back to track a "criminal" from the future, unfortunately, to her wife, family and friends, she's a complete stranger. She comes back to stop a future disaster while attempting to say goodbye to those that she loves.
A interesting take on the whole time travel concept, the science fiction components are not overly technical, and even if you have no interest in those types of stories, it's still a good book. The most compelling portion of the story centers on Dani's encounters with her family and friends who have no recollection of her and how their lives were dramatically different because she had never been there.
The ending brought it all together in a satisfying way. I was a little concerned about how it was going to be a happy ending, but the author managed to find a way without betraying the science aspect aspect of the book. I especially liked the little future/past tidbit reference to the 1906 San Fransisco earthquake at the end of the book.

A very enjoyable page-turning time-travelling story with a great romance.
The saying "The more things change, the more they stay the same" is certainly true of the characters in this novel. This book is well-enough written and edited. The characters are likable although not particularly memorable. The suspense makes the story interesting. I purchased this book hoping for more sci-fi, one in which the bulk of the story is in a different time where the lives of the characters are more significantly impacted by the 'strange new world' encountered. This story felt like the sci-fi was added rather than integral. I would have preferred seeing the characters develop in response to their handling of the challenges in the story, but they do not. They are the same at the end.
San Francisco police officer Dani Barsetti was back-up for an FBI officer who received a tip that a biotechnology research lab was about to be bombed. The building has been evacuated, and shortly after their arrival the bomb goes off. Bryan, the FBI agent, is killed. When Dani checked his body she found an odd metal object beside him. While examining the object she suddenly finds herself in a completely different place. She is now in the twenty-third century. The scientists who she meets explain that they had sent Bryan, the FBI agent, back in time to kill a dangerous terrorist. Unfortunately, the terrorist killed him! The scientists now want to send Dani back in time to take care of the terrorist Dani really wants to get home and gladly accepts their proposal.
Unfortunately, Dani finds that her trip into the future has erased her from the past. Her wife, Gemma, and her parents don't know her. The SFPD has no record of her.
Author McCoy has written an interesting novel which had me glued to the pages! Dani is a well developed character handling a challenging situation. Gemma is also well developed. Author McCoy also does a good job of having her characters explain why it is that none of Dani's loved ones recognize her. Erased has a very satisfying ending with a footnote that ties the 1906 earthquake to one of the scientists to Dani's family history. .
Enjoyable sci fi romp about a cop who is propelled through time by accident, and finds her life as she knew it, has been erased. She must go back and solve the crime and hopefully reconnect with her wife. Of course when she gets back to the present time, nobody knows her. The plot moves at a good pace and I was interested until the end. The two romantic leads are likeable; both have spunk which I like. In a couple of parts, I was a little confused who was supposed to have done what, but sat back and enjoyed the ride. I can recommend this book as a good read. 4.25 stars.
Science Fiction is not my forte. I never could get into Star Trek, Star Wars, or any of those other shows that seemed too far fetched and not set in reality. And in books? Sometimes the lingo seems to be a little beyond my grasp and is difficult for me to understand some of the technical jargon. So although I was excited that Robbi McCoy had written a new novel, I was not so excited that the storyline had a time travel Sci-Fi element to it.

I was curious to see how Robbi McCoy would describe the whole time travel thing since this is her first foray into the Sci-Fi genre. Based on my experience with other Sci-Fi books, I was expecting a slow read. However, I could not put the book down and was done with it in record time. The story was compelling. I was really able to feel the yearning and frustration that Dani, the main character, felt when she was sent into the future and erased from the past. It was easy to imagine what it would be like if this had happened to any one of us. It would be heart wrenching to go back to the past and see your loved ones and not have them know who you are. To have a deep connection with someone that does not even know you are alive, is exasperating. I just had to keep reading to see how, or if, Dani would be able to reconnect with those she deeply loved.

Robbi McCoy's "ERASED" is a sort of modern day "It's a Wonderful Life" with a Sci-Fi twist that even a non Sci-Fi fan will enjoy. Robbi's description of time travel and how it is possible, was easy to understand, and made for an enjoyable read. Who knew Sci-Fi could be romantic?
